DSNWRK expanded the 1954 Atlanta-area home while restoring its original flagstone and wood surfaces.

The space also features a large central island that’s topped with quartz counters and illuminated by an overhead skylight.

A handsomely renovated midcentury home is now for sale near Atlanta, Georgia. The current owners, who purchased the property in 2007, tapped local architects Jennifer Pindyck and Lloyd (Bud) Shenefelt to update and expand the home in 2016. The duo introduced a new addition, a central courtyard, and a sunlit entryway while restoring the home’s classic features.

Originally built in 1954, this single-story home in Decatur, Georgia, was renovated by architects Bud Shenefelt and Jennifer Pindyck from 2016 to 2017. A new addition stands in front, connected to the original structure by a black-painted entry hallway.

The front door opens to an entry hallway, which looks out onto the courtyard. The design team repurposed Flagstone from other spaces to complete the entryway floor.
